Orphanage for Children living with Disabilities
The Alma Nuns run an orphanage for the children living with severe disabilities whose families cannot support them due to their living circumstances and inaccessible environment of Timor Leste.
The Alma Nuns do an outstanding job caring for the children with next to no budget with minimal services and support.
On the first visit in 2019 to the Orphanage, Dan and Isaac met with the Alma Nuns and discussed what would be beneficial to them to support the children.
In 2024 we were able to carry out the delivery of the 20 foot container that held various donations for the Timorese people including the Alma Nuns.
The Generaide team visited Timor Leste in July of 2024 to assist with the distribution of the donations and we once again were able to meet the Alma Nuns and children to see first hand the great work that is carried out in the Orphanage.
The storage yard where the Generaide and Leeuwin Care team unpacked the container was right up the road from the Orphanage. We were able to deliver a truck load of donations to the Alma Nuns and children.
Through our network of generous donations we were able to secure and donate
- Specialist wheelchairs
- Educational equipment
- Clothes
- Sporting equipment
- Toys

This was a major highlight for the Generaide team visiting the Alma Nuns and Children. Their kindness and gentle nature endorsed our commitment to helping these beautiful people continue their life changing work.
