GenerAide

What is GenerAide?

GenerAide’s charter is supporting power generation for critical infrastructure in disadvantaged countries and to ‘bridge the gap’ of health and education disadvantage for people with unstable/unavailable power.

GenerAide is a not-for-profit company founded in 2019 by father and son, Dan and Isaac Lund. After listening to different community radio reports on the plight of the people in Timor Leste and West Papua, he contemplated how he could help. Dan decided to put his generator and critical infrastructure electrical background to good use helping out in these countries, starting with Timor Leste. Isaac was a willing volunteer with the right qualifications to give his dad a hand. Being community spirited runs in the family with Dan’s other children in community service.

After visiting Timor Leste in 2019/2020, Dan and Isaac identified 15 potential projects and are currently scoping out 2 projects.

One of the partners in these projects is Centro Sta. Bakhita/Leeuwin Care, who importantly work at a community level. They have compounds in the North-West Timor Leste, with many skilled workers and equipment, we feel they are well setup to help support our backup generator projects.

Other partnerships are being established.

Timor Leste is in dire need of the services we are proposing to provide, without these urgent works, our neighbours will be further disadvantaged and left behind..” – Dan Lund
